Ten Things I'm Into Lately

This is my belated Thursday post....

1. This American Life on NPR. Quirky, fascinating, always a surprise ending. If you are not intimately acquainted with this great show, time to get started. You can listen to old episodes dating back to the 90's on their website. The one on Supers was crazy.

2. Special K with red berries and vanilla soy milk. There is something about the flavors of this combination that really gets me. I've always liked it, but I am actually buying it regularly now.

3. David Wilcox. Matt and I went to a concert of his a few months back and I was struck by his artistry. He is really talented and has a depth to his lyrics that you don't see often. He also has a totally goofy laugh that is both frightening and endearing at the same time.

4. Black bean, corn, avacodo salsa. Nothing says yummy like this...

5. Bubbles.

6. My husband.

7. Watching the tomato plants grow in the backyard. Of course we bought too many and overplanted them and soon it will be a tomato jungle, but now it is that really fun plant stage where they seem to grow inches overnight. I don't think I'll feel as thrilled when my kids get to this stage....

8. My children. They are so cute, and I am totally unbiased. I'd hate to know how prideful I'd feel if I was biased...

9. No knead bread. Mix 1/4th teaspoon yeast 1 3/4 tsp salt and 3 cups flour and 1 and 5/8th cup water the night before you want to make it. Cover the bowl. When you wake up, stir it again for ten seconds and then cook it in a pot that has been heated in the oven to 450 (take the pot out and quickly grease it and chuck cornmeal in there and then just plop the dough in. Don't even bother touching it). Cook 1/2 hour with the pot covered with a lid and then 15 minutes or so with the lid off. Wha la! You feel like you are in a French bakery.

10. Blogging. At least for this week.

I HAVE to try this bread. Now I will go back to being an anonymous reader.

Hey Matt--you're only in at number six? Squarely behind the salsa and bubbles? Ouch! ;)

These are in random order Joe, (and anyone else who might be wondering).
