I chopped my hair. (Which was a really bad idea, in retrospect). I wake up looking like Einstein and go to bed looking like Beethoven and the grocery store manager at Harris Teeter said (this is a direct quote): "Why did you cut your hair? I bet your husband hates it but he is not going to tell you." This from the same guy that asked me if I was pregnant last time I was there (and I most definetly wasn't) and all I could do was laugh.
It snowed two inches in Charlotte, North Carolina. School was cancelled. The library was closed. Matt's Institute class was cancelled. And I laughed at them all and then I dressed Matthew up in Maddy's old snow clothes and took lots of pictures just like a good local.
He played with a stick for five minutes then he got offended by the cold and wanted to go in. Matthew, honey, Mommy used to have to walk up hill both ways to school in snow ten times that thick without a hot pink snow suit. You don't know how good you have it here in the South. Don't grow up a snow wussy.
Speaking of Matthew, he has spent the whole week perfecting his cheesy face. Of his current vocabulary of six words, "cheese" is one of them.
And even as I post this I realize how much cooler my life would look if I had a fancy camera and I knew how to use Photoshop.

Hope Maddy had a fun day- she is such a cutie!
I like the haircut. You look so tiny in that picture. Please go eat some more birthday cake and pizza.
I love the pink snowsuit- I need to find one for me to wear when I drive my kids to school. I don't want them to have to walk uphill both ways in blizzard conditions like we did..
instead I guess they'll be scarred for life by the memory of their mom dropping them off in her pajamas and pink snowsuit.
First, hair grows. Second, I think it is cute. Third, the guy at Harris Tweeter is blind and was not taught Southern (or any other kind) of manners! Fourth, I second Shannon's advise that you need to eat more. Fifth, I love you all! Mom
I love birthdays. Yes, I still get excited for mine even if pizza and cake has lost its charm. I cut my hair a year ago and loved it. I cut my hair 6 months ago the exact same style and well I'm growing it out for a reason. Hair is very unpredictable!Happy Birthday Maddy!
If there is one thing I've learned about hair, it is that the majority of guys think girls should never cut or add layers to their hair. They prefer shoulder to mid back length with no layers. I think your hair is cute and fun. Don't listen to the random guy at the local grocery store. His opinion doesn't really matter.
What cute pictures! I like your hair, too. Luckily it's Matt that you want to impress, not the grocery store guy. Random people can say the strangest things!
Maddy is looking so grown up. It would be so fun to have a playdate with her and my Madeline!

Thanks for the peek of Madeline's birthday and your CUTE hair cut and there's not a pregnant-looking bone in your body and the 7th picture down from the top looks just like Matthew did at that age.
Love, mom@xoxox
Oh but we miss you guys.
Happy Birthday, Maddy! Has it really been 3 years already?!? Time flies! For the record, you don't need a fancy camera at all. Your life looks plenty cool! And PS the haircut is darling.
