I am finally connected to the Internet after a month long hiatus where Matt and I bought a house, a car, moved into said house and had a baby. And you think that I would want to be writing about all these things instead of about how much I've missed my daily frugal pursuits on craigslist. Or about what Maddy is doing right now. She is sitting on the kitchen table sucking on one of baby Matthew's pacifiers backwards so that the little ball decals appear to be coming out of her nose like athletically predisposed buggers. We are listening to music off a person's blog that I don't know, but who someone I know knows and I really like her taste in music. Matt is probably somewhere on his way home and I am getting Maddy ready by chanting Daddy over and over. The goal is to get her in an excited frenzy by the time he arrives home. Yesterday she squealed like a Bavarian monkey (I am making that animal up) and fell over onto the couch is raptures when he walked in. Matt loved it.
The baby's asleep. There is a mulled cider candle burning. It's Friday. I want to watch a movie or two and play Settler's of Catan with Matt and make outrageous, you-have-to-change-this-many-diapers bets about who is going to win. And then I want to win every game so that I get a diaper-free weekend. And I want to eat fattening food topped off by ice cream and homemade caramel sauce. And even though I spent an hour this morning looking up any and every place we could possibly go on road trip and called Matt at 8:43 a.m. and tried to convince him to skip work and take me to Disneyworld (surprisingly only an 8 hour and 5 minute drive from our driveway) and was quite sure that if I didn't have an adventure today I would crack and do something stupid like drive 40 minutes each way to the nearest Trader Joe's because I've been craving their graham crackers and Australian licorice, my life and our little house don't seem quite as cloistered as they did thus morning.
And all this to say that life is pretty darn good right now. Baby and house pics coming soon...

I have been checking daily for updates on your sweet family! Soooo glad you're back and Congratulations on the new family of Four!
I have also been anxiously awaiting this news! Congrats! Can't wait to see the pictures!
Shelley Spencer... What the heck? This is so random! It's Jenn (Rockwood) Knight here. I found some link to your blog, wondering if Shelley McConkie was in fact THE Shelley Spencer, and it is! I LOVE your blog. I may even have to put a link to it on my blog and revisit it often.
We have a little Madi, too, (2 yrs) and a new baby boy, Max (4 months). Anyway, congrats on all the new changes. Would love to hear from you sometime!
